Between my little Italian and Alessandro's little English and a few hand gestures we managed to communicate and my group and I ate authentic fresh traditional food. Would highly recommend! "Situated on the outskirts of Lucca, the first impression of the location of this restaurant is underwhelming but don’t be deceived, once you drop off the main road into the car park, you enter a tranquil oasis. Many of the tables are placed within a glass enclosure with wonderful views of the beautifully garden, with lights at night carefully placed to highlight the best features. From the moment we arrived, when we were greeted by a selection of the restaurant team, to the moment we left, when the chef came out of the kitchen to bid us a fond farewell, we felt very special and very well looked after. Soon after we sat down we received a glass of Prosecco and four exquisite canapés before having the menu options explained. We elected for the six course tasting menu with wine pairings it was all just wonderful. We had super service from a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English and the very helpful sommelier. One tip for anyone considering doing the same, we booked a taxi allowing 2.5 hours for the meal and we really needed three, although there didn’t seem to be any gaps in the endless supply of excellent treats. In conclusion, we have been let down in the past by the ‘Michelin dining experience’ but this one exceeded our best expectations and was fairly priced too we hope to return one day."
