For the half term we decided to explore the countryside of South Yorkshire, we have a thing for true traditional raw outdoor trips, if we can call them that XD anyway, we have a motorhome and that makes our trips always unique, sometimes it’s only hard to park and stay for the night in a... legal way. So, long story short, the tavern allowed us to stay in their car park for free, and also let us fill our deposit with... View all feedback.
What Katie doesn't like about Lundhill Tavern:
Lovely pub, cosy and homely, would be nice to sit and drink in however, we came for food as a family and would never come again. Pizza was a pizza we buy from supermarket at home for a few quid, goodfellas I think. Lasagne had absolutely no sauce on and the mince was pale, probably the worst lasagne I’ve ever had. Cheesy home cooked chips were really nice. We didn’t ask for a refund or complain, we just paid and left... View all feedback.
I visited this restaurant in March 2018, shortly after it came under new ownership. I stopped in for drinks and food and was very impressed with the fresh food - no frozen meals here! I truly enjoyed my experience.
This charming old pub has three lovely rooms, each with a unique decor. The outdoor beer garden is pleasant and there is a good car park available.
Today, I went for a Sunday lunch with my parents at this restaurant and I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Compared to the other great options nearby, this place fell short. We had to wait a long time to be seated, and once we finally got a table, the service was lackluster. The vegetarian option on the menu was unimpressive, and when I asked for a substitution, I was given only two roast potatoes instead of the requested chips. My parents also found their meat dishes to be mediocre at best. Overall, we were not satisfied with the food or service at The Tavern and will not be returning. I recommend trying the Elephant and Castle or another nearby pub instead.
Just had one of the best Sunday dinners, nearly as good as mine lol, Lovely little place, portion sizes are huge, your plate is nearly full then they bring out the vegetables and the biggest jug of gravy you've ever seen, food stays hot too as the plates are piping hot. If you live close by, you got to give it a try, we will be back.
Proud to call this pub my local.....Great attentive staff and a welcoming landlord and landlady.....Beautifully set out and tables not to close together....Mainly nip in for the Sunday Lunch and not had a bad one yet...and not shy on the servings either..Can highly recommend .
