"They are very friendly BUT we had to wait sooo long to get the food...we didn't even have drinks while waiting so that should be improvedThe food was very good and prices were very acceptable, considering the near position to Basel and the higher prices there.We will come back and expect that they have either more waiters or less people to serve as it is always packed, which seems to mean that it is a good place to eat.Also if you take away, you get a 10% discount"

"This place is great for both pizza and focaccia sandwiches. Very fresh ingredients, imaginative toppings, and nice people. There are only a couple of tables so I avoid the lunch crunch and many people do take away. This is one of my favorite places for...lunch in Basel. Dinner would be fine, but I usually go to a more sit down place for that."

"We are fairly frequent visitors to Basel in order to visit our daughter, who has lived and worked in this lovely city for about 6 years. After a long delay due to COVID, we have returned this week to celebrate her 30th birthday. We always...stay at the Les Troia Rois, which is always top flight, and is again. We also always have at least one dinner meal each visit at Cheval Blanc and the magic of Peter Knogl. We had a magnificent dinner for four last night, topped by the saddle of venison (mousse line of celery and sauce rouennaise), sea bass with chorizo and cucumber, and lagoustine and in a light curry and green apple sauce with paired wines. It was a fabulous celebration of our daughter’s birthday and Peter Knogl’s “greatest joy [in] pampering our guests with a cuisine full of color, shape and sunshine.” Such an incredible four hour extravaganza is not cheap, but one doesn’t often find restaurants with 3 Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points that are not worth the cost. Cheval Blanc is a relatively small restaurant but gorgeous in decor and a priceless Rhine River view. The service is spectacular, good humored, but serious in its quest for excellence and guest comfort and information. A special ending is a humidor of choice, and immensely fine Swiss chocolates."
Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl from Basel is a good place for a bar to a cocktail after work and be able to hang out with friends, there are also fine vegetarian recipes on the menu. "Really special little restaurant, a real gem of a discovery tucked away in Huningue. Owner/Manager/Server, extremely friendle and accommodating of our wishes. Very professional and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. I particularly like this cuisine because it's generally very healthy. Similarities to Indian, but not so liberal on oils and fats. Plenty of options for vegetarian/vegan diet, I was literally torn over my choices for appetiser. I would have liked to have tried them all.Well priced, but not massive portions.I was disappointed with the lack of teas on offer. I was in anticipation of a traditional fresh afghan tea, but only standard bagged black and green varieties available.Definitely coming again! Thank you very much."

"Have been a few times with kids under for sunday lunch. The service is fast and casual and here is a wide range of menu choices. Very large portions i share with a friend. There is a TV blaring pop videos, so we...prefer to sit away from that as the images are not suitable for our young children. That said, we brought along the tablets last time so the kids could watch their own program . usually we wouldn't do that in a restaurant, but here, with the public TV, we felt it was acceptable.
