"We are regular customers at this local fish@chips restaurant and have always had a very good dining experience. However on this occasion everything that could go went absolutely wrong. The customer service was so poor we nearly walked out.We were kept waiting for half hour...for our food to arrive.The excuse the manager gave was because we had one starter the “rule” is to wait for half hour before serving the “main” course!!!! In the meantime two other families who came after us were served and by the time our food arrived one family had finished and the other were ordering their deserts!!!! When our meals eventually were served everything was cold, the chips tasted bitter as if the oil hasn’t been changed for a while.The fish/cod was thin and covered in huge amounts of batter which also had an after taste.The whole meal was awful and a complete waste!!!! Because of our previous experiences we expected better and the very least an understanding apology from the manager who was extremely defensive and rude.I know we would have had better customer service experience from our local McDonald’s! We think the manager would definitely benefit from some customer care experience…."

"Been a regular customer here since day one as the food and value across the range has been good. The last two visits however have seen the portion sizes shrink to almost half the size they used to be. The food has also contained pieces...of burnt crunchy black something (not sure what). Shame as it's right on my doorstep but it has gone from or stars to or so I don't think I will be back again anytime soon."

"Unaware that the pub wasn't doing food, either from information on their website or on the board outside advertising food, we had committed ourselves to buying a drink before being told that there was no food available which was disappointing. Covid hygiene measures were...in place and the lady behind the bar was pleasant. It is, however a place I wouldn't return to."
