Follow its refurb something has changed massively, nothing to do with changes in the restaurant as I haven’t seen that yet but the quality of the food is soooo good, well done to the Bombay Spice, your food is now at the top of the list and others have to play catch up, great food and could not find any faults, thank you. read more.

The restaurant is accessible and can therefore also be used with a wheelchair or physiological disabilities.

Visited on a Saturday, restaurant was almost empty. Starter was terrible- fish pakora- was like a soggy fish nugget with no flavour and it was gooey in places…...

"Coldish saturday afternoon in December. Every pub and bar in town was packed to overflowing, but this small pub, (micro pub really) sandwiched between two other pubs was quieter with spare seating. Started with a local brew, sat outside and conversed congenially with a local. Went inside for second drink. Fancied something different and asked if a wheat beer was available. The lady said no. A gent at the bar said they had Leffe if I wanted Belgian and pointed to a bottle on the shelf. Next to it I noticed a bottle of Blue Moon . I suggested this was in a wheat beer, but she was adamant it was not it was a white beer. I insisted and she inspected it and then agreed it was indeed wheat. She did apologise, but I was disappointed I had to tell her about her job. The beer was enjoyable. Did not eat, but looking at the blackboard I would say it was more light snacks than proper meals but prices looked ok."

"So sad to say that our order this time has not been to its usual standard. The cheesecake was overwhipped and almost tasteless, and the chocolate topping pieces on the waffle were stale. Good amount of sauce though"

"Fantastic service from the Devonshire Arms! From booking to eating the whole experience was first class. We booked a table for 10 for my sons 17th birthday. I was sent confirmation and the preorder document within 5 minutes of my call. We added another guest too at no extra trouble. Staff were friendly on arrival and extended impeccable service throughout the night. The food!! Exceptional. So tasty and you could tell the menu was considered and everything had been cooked with care. Steak was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef! Everything else ordered was fresh and piping hot. Portion sizes gave more than moneys worth, even the kids menu didn’t leave my 9yo niece hungry! We had a range of starters, mains with sides and desserts and everything was outstanding. A bit off the beaten track but definitely a hidden gem that’s worth the drive! To all the staff, thanks for a memorable evening! We will be sure to return!"
