What spankk doesn't like about Assembly Rooms Cafe By Searcys:
I was hopeful for something the smallest bit special being connected to the historic assembly rooms. What a disappointment! Just full of externally run generic fare you’d find anywhere (I assume all bought in stuff) not helped at all by unhelpful staff; I ordered cream tea and told to help myself and got a scone with a pre packaged jelly style jam (disappointing) and it wasn’t until I was half way eating them when I... old atmosphere of Regency time dance is still there. you can imagine woman with fancy dress looking around to be danced by fancy dandy. Free entrance to visit the three main rooms: the ballroom, the tea room and the play room. A cafe is available and inside you can visit (paying a ticket) the Fashion museum. View all feedback.

The Assembly Rooms were unfortunately closed on my last day in Bath but I was happy to see the outside of it.
Limited guided tours only available. Surely NT members could do the tour by themselves as the venue is large enough?
Excellent guided tour by Alison who was very informative and helpful

A little biased but this place is just a dream, well worth a visit

read moreThe historic Assembly Rooms disappoint diners with generic fare and unhelpful staff. On the flip side, the beautifully decorated venue offers a fascinating guided tour. The pricey museum tells the story of high fashion, while the live piano music adds a special touch. The venue impresses with its history and acoustics during musical performances. Though there are mixed reviews on the cafe and service, the overall experience is enjoyable and worth a visit. Plans to reopen in 2026 leave visitors excited for what's to come.
