"We chose the $35 banquet and the meal was delicious. We went on a very busy Friday night, and I gave it four stars instead of five because of a booking issue. Even though I left a message a week before, they didn’t have our reservations. Luckily, they found us a table, but it was small and made the dining experience a bit uncomfortable. Service was efficient and we didn’t have to wait long for the food. Service: Dine in"

"Long queue before being served but only a short wait until food was ready. I ordered the roast of the day and it was very tasty and a huge serving! Others at the table ordered different mains and all were very happy with quality. Above average club bistro!"

"We sat outside, which was possibly a huge mistake as it was so hot and the sweat was running off us. The owner came to greet us and tell us the back story to his heart and soul we were visiting. His passion oozed tenfold....Having travelled to the States many times, we were excited to try the Aussie version of Texas. We were served a little bowl of popcorn to begin our journey. Tasty! My husband ordered the brisket. It was so tender and melt in the mouth. He was hooking into it before I could get the perfect photo. I ordered the Fried Chicken Dinner and my word was it generous. The chicken coating was crispy, and the chicken was tender. I liked the dogwood style slaw, there was just enough on my plate. I didn’t particularly enjoy the cornbread muffin, it was dry, but when adding the maple butter it tasted better. The ranch, didn’t really taste much like a ranch and I found it a little sickening. Perhaps it was the heat, but the fries were overpowered with the signature seasoning. I wish there was no seasoning or the seasoning was to the side. I think there is smoked paprika in the seasoning and it tasted like a lot. And if I am way off, I sure look like a goose. But it was too much seasoning all the same. Staff were very attentive coming back and forth to see if we had finished. I felt terrible for leaving so much of the meal, but it was a large meal. Not sure I have Texan taste buds. I was a little disappointed with the experience and would try something smaller next time."

"Had today the Mexican carving in the elephant and castle hotel. louise has surpassed this one. perfectly boiled, not dry and hard, with jalapeno slices, sweet chili sauce and acid cream with melted cheese over. to finish a generous portion salat and chips. definitiw a 10/10."
