we went to tsunami for a celebrity family and could no longer impress with the service, the food and the intention. four of the 5 people in our party were vegetarian/vegans and our waiter, joe, has an excellent task to advise us on the best vegetarian dresses and avoid any dishes. joe was extremely knowledgeable, attentive, detailed and polite. he looked after our table and was not touched by our asking or the pickin... What User doesn't like about Tsunami Sushi Baton Rouge:
EXTREMELY underwhelming and completely disappointing. Sunflower(their specialty) had a not fresh taste and cost more than an entire all you can eat sushi meal from Masa Sushi (which is much better than here btw). Extremely noisy and made my head hurt. Everyone pretty much has to yell if seated inside. Big Easy was big on oil and not easy to eat. It smelled like it was fried on low heat so it soaked up all the old oil... View all feedback.
I went recently and had a "girl day" with my 6 year old niece here and I can't say enough good things about the staff and food. Good service and hospitality always drives me to write a review. It's so hard to go to a restaurant and have people who seem really happy to be there. I had to call to push back or make reservations because I thought I had my judge put in. I felt so terrible and he was completely consistent. When we got there, they sat fast. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. The girl's day consisted of my 6 years old niece and me and it was her first time here. She loved all the food I did! In the end they brought us a dessert and wrote on it, said it HAPPY GIRLS DAY!!!! They made them feel so special. All the food was very good, especially the Thai noodles. It was a beautiful day!
I really like the Black Gold and Big Easy. Pretty much all I get. Dine in and pick up. Some days are better than others but hey, after all Some cooks are better than others. The best I've had was great and the worst I've had was still good. Dining in has a beautiful view but I still go enjoy the outside view while waiting sometimes even when picking up only.
Tsunami Sushi Baton Rouge is a great location to meet friends for drinks and dinner! They offer great sushi rolls and meals from the menu! Though the wait was long before we were seated, the service was good and the food was good as well. We had a trainee as our server and he was followed by his trainer. Given he was a new employee, he handled the table quite well. We had a party of 6, and he did not mess up any orders. The food came quick from the kitchen after it was entered, and we received everything together instead of having to wait on additional meals to come out. The views from indoor and outdoor seating area were amazing. It overlooks downtown and the Mississippi River, including the Mississippi River Bridge. I would recommend this restaurant.
I absolutely love this place! It's the 5th time I've been here, and each time is a different great experience! The atmosphere is welcoming and breathtaking, inside and out. The whole staff is always gracious polite. I Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!
Outstanding fresh sushi, great drink selection, friendly service and wonderful views of Baton Rouge City Centre Mississippi River. We made a special over night stay on our road trip just so we can eat here again. We ordered Gyoza and Sushi Rolls: Black and Gold, Lava, Philadelphia and the Candy Cane. The last one isn’t on menu anymore but ask the waitress about it and they’ll tell you about the OG menu items. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time.
