This is a nice neighborhood place. Friday night dinners are reasonable and they offer several non alcohol beer and wine options. Given the chemical health issues faced by many veterans a very good move. The public is welcome! View all feedback.
What Google user doesn't like about American Legion:
First time here. Had ad for beers that they didn't even have at all. Had to search for a menu only have one item on menu to choose from. Ordered food for 13 bucks gave them 7 dollar tip. Didn't even get a thank you. The food was bland. Pot roast was okay but flavorless. Carrots were still kind of hard and the cake was so so. Won't be back View all feedback.

Located right on the main drag in bayport this bar is the absolute best. Right as you step in your whisked away to your old town bar, as your kind wait staff serve you up a good stiff drink or cold local beer you'll find your self rubbing elbows and trading jokes with town locals. Step outside to the deck facing the Saint Criox Trail people watch or turn your attention to the twins game on the screen and enjoy your drink in the sun or shade. If your are looking for your new home town bar where you can kick back and become a regular...you found it!
Solid (not so little) Legion. The female bartenders are friendly and take good care of refilling your drinks while there shooting the breeze, playing bar bingo and getting in on the meat raffle. They often have very reasonable specials. The inexpensive burgers are even hand pattied. Good fries too. I always sit in the bar. There are a ton of families that bring large crowds and kids earlier in the evening but if you sit up at the bar you typically won't be bothered by them. The restrooms are very clean too.
Good people nice atmosphere and the best part you are helping our veterans. I am a veteran but because they had the dates I couldn't join. But my dad Wes a veteran so I joined as a son of a veteran because he was a prisoner of war in Germany for around 17 month's and never talked about it and most of them didn't. 5 years after I got out is ask me if I thought I could handle some nasty stories I said what is it I want someone to keep the what the Germans did to us. I don't know but I will listen took 2 days. He told not to tell the girls. I will tell the pastor enough so they understood why I drank. It has taking me a long time to decide to tell.my nephews some pretty nasty stuff but I finally decided to like did ask the I think can handle some really nasty stories about his gramps. And if he says yes. It will up to him to tell the boys. He wanted to keep it alive so I decided I will tell every thing. But nothing to the girls. Then it up to him who he thinks can handle it dad wanted people to know so I have start asking my nephew you wants the job. And if the bayport legion would like me to talk about it I will give enough information so they understand how bad it was. Thank you Ed Noreen was my dad. Of course everyone in bayport had nick name so I got Ed. If the legion wants send flyer out I wood.like people to make donation to.legion and as many people or day's they want to but I would 90 percent to go to disabled veteran group that will help the vetrans. I got poisoned and some other things buy they said I don't qualify for it. So basically forgot about it. A friend told me to go to vfw advocate the really helped I'm so I did. And one evaluation. And said with the pac act they said that is a automatic approved. And they to wait for them to finish paper work to get done it sounds promising but I will not count on it tell I see it. So up to people and the legion. Took 2 days to tell it all probably cus I had take breaks be cause the nasty stuff I couldn't stop crying. But I am glad he told and I wood love keep it alive now its up to the legion to set the prices for tickets so let's how many people appreciate what they did for us. Donation over tick price are welcome. I will talk to legion and see I if interested and I will do it as many times as the can sell tickets for.Thank you very much. If they once they they make tickets it's up to them to in the summer and mabey do it outside. I will talk to them to see if they are interested. Thank you and Merry Christmas.John (ED)NOREEN
