One of the top 3 hotels in the world for me. Something about POO is perfect for me. Decades ago, when I was poor college student, I would park nearby, sleep in my truck, then have a trout breakfast. the trout is replaced by catfish and the memories are equal. It was Quiet. They turned off the lights at night so I could sleep with the curtains. the balcony opposite the lake. Quiet, dark, sea water, comfortable perfect for me. I'll be back. And lasting first a sand watch for 5 minutes. I discovered that the filling of the tub took only 5 minutes, so I didn't waste too much water for my much needed muscle relief. A whirlpool at the lake would make it perfect and then I would just need 2 minutes shower! Great service, great food (red beet salad) quiet and peaceful.

I had my wedding at the summits of Otter about three weeks ago and it was amazing! Everything about it was perfect from the decorations, the food and the atmosphere. The waiting staff was incredible at our reception and everything went perfectly without a clink! I recommend brides to check their wedding here as it is a beautiful location! The sales coordinator was so helpful and answered all the questions I had about time! Overall it was a fantastic experience and it is something that my husband and I will remember forever!

We had a wonderful stay at POO. Our server, Nathan creates a fun relaxing atmosphere for dinner and breakfast! We enjoyed the delicious meals, but above all we would like to thank Nathan for his charm and wish him the best!

What a beautiful place with an updated look, great staff and a great view!! We were hosting a special event this weekend and it was nothing less fabulous! Nickki was so great to help us set up our event, and Bradley was a great server that didn't miss a beat. I can't wait to visit again! Thank you for a fantastic experience!

We come here several times a year for the serenity and hiking options. There are four great hikes within a stroll from the lodge. Sharp Top Mountain is a challenging ascent to one of the best panoramic views in the park. Harkening Hill and Johnson Farm Loop add up to a 4.16 mile hike with a 1930s vintage restored Appalachian Farm, which is worked by folks dressed in period in the Summer. Flat Top Mountain is four mile hike, or much more depending on how you climb and return to the tallest peak although overlooks are sparse. And The Cascades is a great shorter hike (1.5 miles or more) which rewards with several waterfalls. The rooms are nice with a spectacular view of Sharp Top Mountain from the balcony across a lake. The Lodge has a great menu offering options for any diet and the service is good. A lounge adjoins the restaurant, which has a modest bar, a huge fireplace and the same view across the lake at Sharp Top. It's always a pleasant stay here. The people who work and visit are always in good spirits.
