Open through siesta and a little out of the town centre (about a 90 second walk) its a lovely little bar that does an excellent selection of tapas and sandwiche...

"We were chatting with a local in Pals who recommended this place glad he did. We walked up for a late lunch in our jeans and were accommodated with no fuss or pretense. The food was subtle and elegant in flavour and the service...was excellent. A beautiful experience! A must visit if you are in Costa Brava."

"The atmosphere is good. Waiters were nice but so busy that after asking for water three times and it not being delivered I had to leave the table and request water from behind the bar. Our children has the pizzas which are priced at a normal size pizza but are tiny. We had to take them for pancakes after. They are offering small portions on everything and cashing in on a tourist crowd. Very disappointing I wouldn’t recommend it."

"Really loved it. Two of us had dinner here recently. The starters were amazing. Artichoke, fois gras and poached egg was incredible. Baby favas and we’re exceptional too. We shared a fish which was cooked to perfection. The owner was witty and friendly as were all the staff. We finished with a delicious‘ fake cheese cake’ which was worth the calories. The style is informal but sophisticated which Catalonia excels at."

"Concept restaurant that thinks that serving little is classy; this may be true in certain cases but it is not the case here, the portions are ridiculous both on the plate and in the glass; the raw materials are worked from less noble pieces. Angus beef achieves the feat of having more bones and fat than meat. We can always console ourselves by saying that there is collagen, and that it is good for our health... The presentation is ordinary and fails to save the low quality of the products (cod salad which consists of a ridiculous little piece of fish placed on pieces of damaged salad). The service, like the dishes, is messy and agitated more than really active. This restaurant gives the impression of being without a captain on board, neither in the kitchen nor in the dining room, but rather the result of a real estate investment in which the owner(s) embarked without knowing anything about the world of catering (if that). it's the opposite, it's even worse). The building is very beautiful from the outside, but it quickly appears that little thought has been given to welcoming customers with the class it claims to offer: the restaurant room is noisy (the chairs would benefit from being equipped with glides), the toilets look like toilets public. If you love good products and come to Bégur to treat yourself, don't do like us and avoid the taverna son molas. Meal type: Dinner Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2"
