As a non cook (I generally do the washing up! , my wife dragged me along I was delighted with everything. Great atmosphere, Niall was great at explaining everything, and the ingredients terrific. We made our own bernaise and pepper sauces which we ate for lunch with delicious steaks. It all added up to really enjoyable experience. View all feedback.
What JohnnyMcComb doesn't like about The Cookery School:
After reading other reviews about this place, I can confirm that it is not up to standard. The cleanliness is a major issue, as I witnessed bar staff using dirty glasses for cocktails after rinsing them in the dishwasher. This lack of hygiene is not acceptable, especially considering the prices at the bar. I would recommend avoiding this place if you have any sense. I will not be returning to any bar in this complex,... View all feedback.
Went to the BBQ class with a few friends. Great host in Niall. Very knowledgeable and engaging teacher. Lots of food facts Great way to spend an evening
Attended the curry evening which was very casual and informative. We cooked three dishes which were all superb and washed down with a nice Pinot Grigio. The chef was happy to share lots of information about the restaurant itself and I was staggered at the amount of prep that goes in. Eg 12 hours to make stock and this is a daily chore. Will definitely try one of the other courses.

My Brother and law and I were bought this cookery school for Christmas , we can cook a little bit , however we had a great time and learnt a lot in a very relaxed atmosphere, great time.
Fantastic way to spend a rainy day in Belfast. Various methods of cooking seafood including scallops, mussels, baked and pan fried fish and seaweed potatoes. The chef is very experienced member of the restaurant team when not teaching these classes. He has a good way with people and is a natural entertainer. Although I have cooked fish all my life, I picked up plenty of ideas and will now prepare dishes like scallops and mussels, which I have avoided in the past. A bonus is you get to eat all the food at the end.
