"Came into this place early evening on a Saturday and things were fairly quiet. I ordered a chicken platter with fries, and my girlfriend ordered a falafel wrap. She also ended up asking about their sauces, all of which are homemade, and available for order! They had some pretty interesting sauce flavors, from the standard sweet spicy (MUST try , to some more fruity flavors like spicy mango, spicy raspberry, to some VERY interesting flavors like an avocado sauce. The owners were AMAZING they let us sample each sauce while telling us about exactly what went into each sauce (the avocado doesn’t have any sugar! . They gave us a complimentary little plastic container of the avocado sauce by far our favorite. The avocado sauce wasn’t watered down AT ALL, very thick and full of avocado flavor. Don’t expect anything like guacamole, it’s still definitely a sauce. Back to the main food falafel was freshly prepared and fried (we had to wait a bit, which of course is expected , and the chicken shawarma was amazing. Generous portions of garlic sauce and hummus. The side salad was nicely dressed as well, wasn’t an afterthought or anything. The avocado sauce definitely gives me California vibes and I enjoyed it with the fries (although some may give me side eye for saying that . The owners are a very friendly couple, and the restaurant gave off friendly, neighborhood vibes. They recognize regulars by the voice when they order, joke around with their customers, and even talked about and offered us samples for their rice, which they suggested for me the next time I come by, which can’t be soon enough."

"Since my first experience in the original Keg in North Vancouver, I have eaten in the late 80s in the keg restaurants, which was an incredibly great food experience. Over the years I have eaten near 40 locations throughout Canada when... Traveling for companies and usually were very good, but tonight at the keg on Riverside Drive in Windsor, ON I had the best meal service that has remembered most of this first experience of 30 years ago at the flagship restaurant in BC. Great cry into the kitchen for the perfect first-class ribbed meal and our dining room personal provider Amanda, the amazing and impressive in her abilities, Timng, service personality makes the experience really pleasant, despite the fact that the restaurant was packed. Finished team! 11 out of 10"

"This is our second trip to Vertical for dinner, and the food has always been excellent. There are thoughtful dishes and a lot of variety on the menu, with great cocktails and a lengthy wine list. Our server was prompt, informed, and friendly. I have one singular negative to report. The chairs at the high tops near the front of the dining area were so uncomfortable! All four of us are somewhat tall (5 '7 , and the height of the table matched with the height of the chairs was nearly impossible to navigate. It 's difficult to explain, but no body position makes sense. Your legs are either firmly pressed against the bottom of the table or awkwardly dangling in purgatory above the floor. We were able to laugh it off and enjoy our meals, but this seems like a significant oversight for an otherwise exceptional eatery. We will undoubtedly return to Vertical but will request a low-top table."
