Sam's Place - Belleville

What to say... Do I like it? Yeah, but do I love it? The place is clean and everyone is beautiful, immediately it is a local hangout. From my understanding, breakfasts are very good. My wife said it remembered her as a kind of Big Boy restaurant. As far as food is concerned, she had what else the Slim Jim did. I gave it a try and would say that it was good, but the sauce was missing a lot, everything you got was a big mouthful ham and it's one of those things that overwhelming a few bites in. I have the “Everything you can eat Fish Special every day.” I'm a big fish fan, so I'm getting nitpick here. The Coleslaw looked great, but I had decided for the salad, nothing more than a huge bowl of salad. The fish was not cod, and when it was, it was a very bad cod. Tilapia was more like it; the bread I would say pancake battery. Not bad, but with the strips of fish cut thin and the bread thick it began to be too much, the first dish had a lot and I never got after. One thing I could do is Hash Browns instead of Pommes. If you give fish there try; I found it an excellent site and have done it many times. Would it be my first place to stop? No, but I think overall they have to have some excellent things, and we just didn't find them.

We have been here lately not only for Covid and the reviews, but decided to give it an attempt, usually we do not go to a place that closes an hour or so, but I am glad that we have decided to come out. My husband got the city of chicken and boy we were both surprised beautiful pig carvings and a fungus grim about it.... delicious!!!! so I know some places have bad reviews and there might have been a 1 off situation, but in any case give them an attempt, you will not be disappointed!!!

It's pretty good food, you have the peace soup and fish and chips. Nice diner, quick bite.

Great restaurant. It's my place. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. They are treated like family. The prices are good and good is excellent.

Sharon, my waitperson was very kind. Food was plentiful, reasonably priced and good. Bacon was nice and crispy today
