The service was excellent. Always there by your side at just the right time. As a John H restaurant you would think that the steaks would be great, but they were good, not great. Drinks were good! Dessert was excellent. Appetizers were delicious. The reason for my 4 star review was overpriced steak that was nothing special. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Seastar Restaurant Raw Bar:
Last night was my first and the last visit to this restaurant. The biggest problem with Seastar is that every dish we ordered were not tasty at all. The rice in the sushi rolls didn’t have the right texture. The shrimps in the hot and sour soup were way overcooked. The soup tasted funny. It seems that the chef had no clue about how to cook Asian food or fusion food at all. The diver scallops and the seafood jambalaya... View all feedback.
If your looking for that meal that will change your life you have found it. Easily trumps any sea food I have eaten in Washington! There service is on point as well, very personable and attentive!
My wife and I had gone for restaurant week which was amazing. The pork chop was delicious. It had been cooked crisp on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. With the combination of being perfectly cooked the flavor explodes in your mouth. One of the best pork chops I've had. It was paired with butternut squash and potatoes which added additional flavor as they had been cooked in brown butter. The dish was a perfect tint of spice and sweetness. The panna cotta was perfect. It had passion fruit, kiwi, and raspberries with a green tea syrup. I guess I can compare it to eating a starburst without the chewy consistency as it melted in your mouth. We had a few other dishes which was amazing like the butternut squash soup (rich and warm) and the ahi (refreshing). But the above were my favorites of the evening. The service was also impeccable.
We just ate for Seattle restaurant week and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the Thai soup, steelhead with the curry, and the coconut pie. Highly recommend this meal.
Excellent service and tasty seafood! Nice setting as well.
I expect the food, the drinks, and the service to be top-notch when paying $400 for three people, and it definitely was, again! The server was so kind and knowledgeable, the drinks were outstanding, and the food was delicious. Many option on the menu. I might be a snobby Seattle-ite but I like my fish fresh and it was that at Seastar. It got noisy because it was packed on a Friday night. I have no issue with them adding the 20% automatically as I have worked in a restaurant before and some don’t understand the importance of tipping. Overall, a fantastic experience!
