St James Tavern - Benidorm

We went in for breakfast on our first day and thank goodness we did. Tracey and Spencer are so friendly and welcoming and the food was lovely. All freshly cooked and very well presented. The premises are very clean and nothing was too much trouble. We went in every day after our first visit and highly recommend it. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. When in Benidorm again we will most certainly visit. Thank you Tracey and Spencer

Everybody visiting Benidorm should pay a visit to the Mucky Duck. Excellent food all freshly prepared by Dave Tracey, who are also fantastic hosts. The prices are reasonable to. Breakfasts are great and set you up for the day. Thanks to all the staff who made our visits there really enjoyable.

The last thing I intended to do was visit and ex-Pat haunt in Benidorm, but we had to find a local landmark to meet a friend, and having parked the car right outside, it seemed as good a place as any! This is no slight on the Brits abroad, but having spent the last few years up the coast, I am a great fan of the challenge of using my very, very basic Spanish, and being able to order and be understood is a bit tame! The welcome here was fantastic, especially as this was quite early in the day, and the life of a Benidorm bar owner is not the easiest existence. Greeting the next wave with a smile must be pretty tough at the best of times. The food was pretty good, came in good time, and the bill was a very pleasant surprise. If Benidorm is your thing, you could certainly head somewhere worse than this.
