This is AMAZING. So so many vegetarian option also!!! The mole is really out of this world and I only had one so good in Mexico City. Their table Salsas are also amazing, actually tasteful and actually spicy. They also have heated outdoor seating. I am sad that I do not live in the same city as this beautiful and tasty establishment. View all feedback.
What Avi K doesn't like about La Mission:
Flautss were covered withguacamole sour cream which NO amount could cover up or make for the DRYNESS of the shredded meat inside!!! Tortilla soup (previously ordered BeTTER enjoyed THEN) was tasting OFF (was SALTIER but ALSO- WORSE than the salt, it was a little BITTER -presumingly, because of an overdose/high-amount of OREGANO use...!!! How could my first review of 2024 NOT be for La Mission? This place is consistently delicious, great service (even with super long lines! , and has a beautiful seating area. Though it can get packed and the seating is right off the sidewalk (not in the street, just close to it , the turnover is quick. Try the pozole (my faaaave or for breakfast, the chilaquiles (also my faaaaaaaaave . You really can't go wrong with this menu! Also omg I've reviewed this place 4 times?? Whoops. Still gets 5 stars from me!!
Overall Rating: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Service/Wait: 4/5 Price/Value: 5/5 Atmosphere/Uniqueness: 3/5 Visited La Mission for authentic Mexican flavors many times, and most of the time the food was great. The food, especially the Flautas de Pollo and Nopales Mole Poblano burrito, was delicious. The service was commendable, and the prices justified the quality of the food. A recommended spot for those craving Mexican food; certainly considering a return visit. Flautas de Pollo Rating: 4/5 Crispy, well-seasoned chicken-filled flautas. Deliciously crunchy exterior with flavorful chicken inside. Platanos Rating: 4/5 Sweet and perfectly caramelized plantains. A delightful blend of sweetness that complements the savory dishes. Tacos de Plaza Rating: 4/5 Authentic street-style tacos with a burst of flavors. Each taco was savory and packed with delicious fillings. Nopales Mole Poblano burrito Rating: 4/5 A unique combination of flavors. The mole poblano added a rich, complex taste to the nopales burrito, creating a satisfying dish.
Seen this place it always seemed to be packed every time we passed by so we had to give this place a try! Right when I walked in, I was greeted right away and there was sooo much to choose from and it was hard for me to make a decision on what I wanted lol. We weren't that hungry but still wanted to try this spot out. Decided to order us some carne asada tacos and carnitas taco with a horchata.....yum! I totally forgot to tell them plain but it's ok I just picked out the onions and cilantro. The food overall was ok nothing outstanding about it. Definitely would like to try their dessert I looovveee me some cheesecake and carrot cake!!! My next visit I would definitely check out their desserts!
We just got to-go, I had a carne asada burrito and my friend got a grande vegetarian taco. The burrito was good--the meat was nicely cooked--but was missing some flavor. Maybe I should've asked for more sauce or added guac. Though I thought that maybe the beef should've been seasoned more to carry the flavor. In any case, I plan to give it another try and order more carefully, largely because the outdoor seating area is nice.
This place is so cute! Little corner restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating on their patio. If you're looking to eat indoors, they only have 2 tables, so come prepared to wait. We ordered at the counter and found a table. The food quickly came out. Their servings a huge and fairly priced. Definitely try the flautas de mole. So good.
