Yesterday we went to Café Lyrik to hear a whole new Klezmer group called KlezBanda. There were many people and the atmosphere was so beautiful and lively and the songs that sung in Yiddish and in Russian touched our hearts. The drinks are good and... the owner is a friendly woman. You're not going here to eat. At the end, the owner collects money for the musicians, but for such a beautiful evening it is OK to give 10... View all feedback.
What Matthias Walter doesn't like about Cafe Lyrik:
quite the same experience as some of the above mentioned. a frosty reception, ugly overpriced beer, a moderate quartet and an unpleasant money/hut experience. to avoid any price and it will cost. View all feedback.

Horrible place!!! First we had to wait for 1h to get some horrible overpriced little snack, not tasty at all. Then the musicians started to play 45min after it was announced. The quality of the music was awfull so we wanted to leave after the...first set, the rude lady in the bar tells us we need to put money in the hat for the musicians and we put some coins even though we didnt want to and the lady started to scream about we had to put more since the entrance is free. How can you say something is for free when you cant leave without paying for some crappy music?!? Awfull place and lady in the bar. Awfull food and bad quality of the music. Dont go there!!!!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE... over priced drinks and food. Free concerts you are told (when collecting your bill) to tip 5 euro per head we only saw half a set!! And the staff member was awfully rude about it. They should just advertise a door...charge... I think she thought we were tourists and was trying to take advantage. We won 't go back... it smelt like dog.
We went to cafe Lyrik to hear Joana Kupniche singing with Klaus Schafer on the piano. We had a marvalous evening. Joana has a very good performance of the german chanson. You can see her again on 2/2/2012 in Heimathafen Neukolln. Cafe Lyrik has noce...performances every now and then.
