I was initially hesitant about the entrance fee, especially since you have to pay for what you pick, but within 30 seconds of meeting the lovely blonde woman working there, it was worth it twice over! She was absolutely hilarious. The petting zoo was fantastic, I especially loved the goats. The picking experience was great as well, but the highlight was definitely the friendly staff and adorable animals. It's worth t... View all feedback.
What Melvin Braun doesn't like about Dempsey's Corner:
An outdated place in need of a facelift. All of the activity areas were old and in disrepair. The mini golf, sound garden and play yard were sad. Very little of any produce around. Vegetables were not found, no fruits on the trees and underripe apples. No clear markings and signage in the apple orchard made for complete confusion. Washrooms needed some basics such as toilet paper. Really disappointed in this farm fro... View all feedback.
If they are looking for a fun way to spend some family time. come on....get their autumn basket filled and check our get out and landscape
We arrived quite late in the day and couldn't take in all of the activities and vegetable fruit picking that we wanted. However we spoke to a nice man who helped us decide what to pick. We received a map and specific details about...what and where to pick in this huge orchard. We were instructed to taste test everything to our hearts content! Amazing since other places frown upon such behaviour. We chose to pick apples first. Easy walking distance from the main area. Up a slight incline, but not too bad. Apples were plentiful and easy to pick. We moved on to yellow plums next. They were delicious. Due to time we didn't sample too much. Then we headed back to main barn and up the hill on the other side for the rest of our items. We went up the hill looking for peaches. We saw a family who had an enormous crate filled with peaches. However the trees were bare. There were more peach trees up the hill but we chose to skip that and move on to potatoes and corn. My daughter and I enjoyed pulling up potatoes. It was like finding buried treasure. Lol Then on to the corn field. We were told when we arrived to sample everything (we skipped taking a bite out of potatoes). We did in fact pick ears of corn, husk it and nibble the corn right there. Yup raw corn is delicious! Who knew! By this time it was almost 5:00pm closing time. So we headed to the barn and paid for our purchases. Next time we will get there earlier and make a day of it! Thank you Dempsey's Corner Orchard!
I went here with my husband and four kids (age 7-17) because we were looking for a way to pass some time between low tide and high tide at the nearby Bay of Fundy. We came just hoping to pick some blueberries but discovered delicious...fruits of all kinds to pick and a charming petting zoo. My kids got to feed kitchen scraps to the calves and feed them water from giant bottles. There's also a sound garden to play with and you can play foosball with a potato and hit apples with golf clubs and tennis rackets. With all the tasty fruit, refreshing drinks in the store, and fun activities our family was thoroughly entertained for a good 4-5 hours.
We go here every year. always like to visit. they have the best U-Pick around. absolutely wonderful products. great family goal.
There were so many possibilities to choose the apple and she offered a simple card to follow for the apples they wanted. we have prunes, plums, pfirsiches, grapes, nectarines and maize, what was the best I tasted!
