What Jessica T doesn't like about Satsuma:
*As of July 2021* no dine in! And hours are 11:30am to 7:30pm. (Pre pandemic they would close midday) Friends and I came for the 1 nigiri! You mark and number how many nigiri's you want. My friends got from 20-30 pieces. Some pieces of the fish were fresh. Some weren't as fresh. We only noticeably smelled the yellow tail being fishy... which is unfortunate cause many of us love it! The ratio of rice and fish is well balanced! Salmon belly and the tuna belly nigiri was a smooth bitter taste. The best, for me, was the octopus and surf clam. Come by if you want to try out the nigiri's! The employees were kind and helpful when it came to ordering for a large party. Overall the taste makes sense of the price, but I'm willing to spend a few more to have better quantity fish. What j k likes about Satsuma:
Once in a while, it's nice to find a Japanese restaurant that offers fresh nigiri sushi for $1 per piece. It's only takeaway for now, but they offer it all day long. They are still offering this as of January 2022 for about 20 different selections (see photo of $1 nigiri list), so it's a good variety. But they also have other dishes like sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese dishes, most for under $10 a dish. View all feedback.
