"Alright! Been here enough times to write review.Upon walking in its very localized spot. But don't let that worry you. The vibe is mellow and welcoming.Every time I've been here I've never had a bad experience.Always been treated with respect and professionalism.So let's move onto the food and drinks.There's always. Great selection of beer on tap.And it isn't to expensive here either. Great spot for some beers if that's all you're looking for. They also have TV and wifi. Something that is a rarity in Big Sur. You don't really come here to watch TV of use the internet. In my opinion it kills the Big Sur vibe and experience. But to each their own.The food.So their food has changed almost every time I've been here each year. Is that a bad thing? No. I like how the menu stays new and different. The only part I was upset about is how their fish tacos have changed. They were AMAZING. They're a bit of a different style now but STILL worth getting.The calamari sandwich? Holy jesus it's HUGE. It's enough food for a whole family lol. The sandwich would easily feed 3. Their fries are perfect and fresh that come with it to.Also tried their popcorn shrimp. Excellent shrimp seasoned very well. All in all I really can't say anything bad about this place. The only reason I even gave it 4 stars is because I really miss the original fish tacos. They were something I always came back for. But now they're a different s style. So I'll have to find a new go to on the menu.Overall. I would highly recommend this place. You really can't go wrong here."

"Great spot after visiting Pfieffer Beach. It is expensive but it's good and next to the river. We made rock towers. The sweet potato fries are great and the fried salmon and burger are good."

"Oh my gosh!!! This place is a gem!! Friendly service! Good food!! A lot of patio seating! So many choices, and so many of them are healthy!! My 8 year old Son and myelf had a hard boiled egg, string cheese and a yogurt parfait...so delicuous and just what we needed after 5 miles of hiking!! My Husband and boys had a chicken burrito that was huge and a cheese pizza...they said it was all delicious!! We will most definitely be back again when we visit next summer!!"

"No. First off this is not a smoke house. This was more like a school cafeteria on bbq day.... If that. This was gross. The brisket had an iridescent sheen to it..... like lunch meat. I'm pretty sure it was lunch meat with sauce. The sides all were all lousy and it wasn't worth 10....let alone the 70 it cost for two meals. Such a disappointment! Really great space wasted."

"With a name like Nepenthe (neh pen it, which means a Greek word house without worries it is easy to see why the name fits here. There seems to be some companies here, so let me explain how it seems to work: Nepenthe is the restaurant in the upper area. Due to the price point we did not eat here and simply went to a level we felt was less crowded, more open views anyway. I saw a full coffee/wine bar and maybe a limited menu. Did not have much interaction with the host, but she did not seem very friendly/happy. People seemed to wait awhile and stick in the corners without so many views, but it meant to appear as an upscale restaurant. It's not, it just has the view. Cafe Kevah is the middle café with view If I could get married everywhere, I would choose this balcony corner. Maybe renewal of the vows. Our whole family LOVES this place and will now be one of every time stop for us."

"Super friendly clean and cozy restaurant in the heart of Big Sur. Took a break here while exploring with a friend. Burger was big and juicy and the fries were scrumptious. Would come here again. They also take military discount!"
