Very reliable and sometimes stellar. They used to have a free nacho bar during happy hour- that actually brought us there way more often. The creamy jalapeño dip is excellent on everything. Highly recommend. The quesadilla appetizer is great and I get mine with two steak and two chicken and normally take one or two home. They reheat really well. What Evangeline Parisian doesn't like about Chuy's:
We came on a busy night so we ended up sitting at the bar. Food was okay. Service was fine. That’s why I am giving an extra star. Bathroom was disgusting. Blood on stall door and floor. Sorry no picture of that. This picture is from the women’s bathroom. I pray that isn’t black mold. Either way it’s nasty. I let Chuy’s know weeks ago but they never responded. Hopefully it’s been taken care of. View all feedback.

Always a great place to dine, wait time can be bothersome. The food and the service are actually great. I would like to see another CHUYS in the Birmingham...... I hate to admit, Chuy's has changed that taken away favorites off their menu and some of their bartenders are resistant to special needs or drink choices I was told they did not have Kahlua, and the Long Island tea we got were immediately sent back they were awful, this could be and probably is an isolated experience but there you have it!
Have eaten here many times, food is always excellent and atmosphere is great. But during my last visit, there was a long wait to be seated (45 minutes), but it was more due to the fact that they weren’t able to handle a full restaurant for too few employees. I hope this is not a trend for their future because they will struggle to survive in the crowded restaurant neighborhood where they are. I would recommend you give this a try.
This was probably the most mediocre Mexican place I have ever eaten at. The food was ok, I would rank it above Taco Bell. The restaurant is deceptively situated in an upscale area of shops and businesses. Its kinda hidden away in the corner of the Mall/Shops area. There may be a reason for this. In this nice area you step into a place that looks beat up, and has no rhyme or reason for the decor. The table and chairs look like they were brought in second hand from a fifties diner. One chair I was next to had the back nearly falling off. So much for the environment. I ordered the Chuychanga with refried beans and rice. The portion was descent but the flavor was bland. They also make a todo about the sauces the meals come with, I did not get any sauce, an oversight I'm sure. I was eating in the bar area so good service on a Thursday afternoon about 3pm should have been a no brainer, but I sat my empty glass of tea on the edge where it could be obvious I needed a refill. The server passed by 6 times before stopping to ask if I needed a refill. Despite all the negatives I experienced, the chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa was great. The Chips and Salsa saved this experience from being equal to Taco Bell at 1 stars across the board. I would not recommend to anyone I know to go to this restaurant. P.S. This was my experience and it was not influenced by other reviewers opinions
Love this place. Very relaxed and chilled!! Prices resonable.
