"We were a family group of 13. The owner suggested we reserve for breakfast. They had a table ready for us at 8 am. Coffee was served immediately, orders were taken efficiently. The servings were generous, the pricing excellent. Great place to start your day. We will definitly stop in again if driving through Blind River"

"We stayed here for our first time visiting Blind River and were pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and delicious food at this hotel and restaurant. The hotel is a humble wood building with an old charm to it. The rooms were renovated and were well maintained during our week stay. In addition to the sunset views on the lake, the location of the restaurant right next to our rooms was more than convenient! Although labelled as a sports bar, the food at the Pier Sports Bar easily surpasses most restaurants and pubs we've visited, and is well-prepared with high-quality ingredients. We enjoyed the fish and chips, a large portion of chicken wings, fish tacos, chicken sandwich, and their signature burger. All were well prepared and the sides including their seasoned fries and caesar salad were no less delicious than the entrees! Both the restaurant and hotel are locally owned and family run, which is clearly evident during your stay and/or visit. I would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a hidden gem to visit along the highway. Edit: forgot to mention the reliable and fast internet we had the entire time. Made a big difference!"

"We always order the Kitchen Sink. We have been ordering these Pizzas since they opened in 1989. They are the BEST. I make my own when I’m not around but their pizzas are always better.Parking: Parking can become congested if there is an event going on at the Legion."

"Pier 17Had the opportunity to visit this restaurant on a first date. The date was amazing, or even of a kid maybe; looking forward to spending more time with this man, but the meal was magnificent!!My date strongly recommended this restaurant, so I threw caution to the wind and dove in. I was not disappointed. Ambiance is without words. Situated right on the river, the views are breathtaking. We parked in the ample parking out front and went in for supper. When you walk in motel service is to the right and the restaurant is to your left. I can't comment on other times but when we arrived the option was to seat yourself. We sat alongside the river and were greated shortly thereafter by a lovely server. Though I can't recall her name, I cannot send enough accolades to this 30-40 something dark-haired servess. She was amazing, taking care of our every need. She was very knowledgeable about the specials of the day and drinks and I felt as if I need not look at the menu. Specials offered included locally harvested lake trout, penné aux sauce de choix or Roast Duck with a mandarin au jus. Needless to say we both chose the duck. Roasted medium rare to perfection with an incredible au jus, served on fresh mashed with seasonal grilled veggies this was far more then I could finish. My 'Saturday night cream ale' from a microbrewery in Sudbury was delicious. Dessert, prepared daily, from scratch was offered. Options included Strawberry shortcake, Lemon tarte or Crème Brulée. As a result of being stuffed from the main course I didn't endulge! We both finished with coffee. I cannot comment on the cost as. Y chivalrous date got the bill. I suspect for us both including beers it was about 80$.All in all I am looking forward to my return to Pier 17. My only question is how has this gem remained hidden in Blind River!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
