What User doesn't like about Thonburi Thai Food-Namaste:
The restaurant serves Canadian-style Thai food. Unfortunately, the beef and chicken were not fresh. The service was average, but the prices were very reasonable. Overall, the restaurant receives three stars. View all feedback.
Always a must stop when in the Collingwood area. We've followed Narry through all the moves and name changes. The menu can be a little overwhelming but trust your server to help you find dishes that will satisfy. This is authentic Thai but Narry is willing to tone down the heat without compromising the depth of the traditional flavours. None of that for me though as I prefer and enjoy the full experience. In fact, this time we had the street version of Pad Thai (although we did add some chicken). This will now be the only version I will ever order. It is not the over sweet food court concoction but rather a more citrusy and lighter tasting dish based on narrow glass noodles and bean sprouts. The beef in coconut milk and red chili oil (very hot) was a delight as well with layers of flavour.
We recently visited this restaurant for dinner and were warmly greeted and seated on the back patio. The patio was quite small in size but was overlooking the resort pool and well worth it on a nice summer night. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and answered any and all questions. The staff took the time to get to know us and treated us like family! (Even giving us some great advice about a possible trip to Thailand we've been considering). The food options were very plentiful, prices very reasonable and very big portions. You will likely have leftovers! The service was also very fast.We ordered the pineapple chicken and chicken pad Thai... both were excellent. The tom yum soup was large enough to share between 2 and had some kick and cleared our sinuses but still worth it.Definitely worth it overall and would not hesitate to return or recommend!!The whole night came full circle for us when we took a tour of the scenic caves the next morning and learned that our tour guide was the restaurant owner's daughter!
I was very impressed with the choices at this restaurant. The restaurant is located inside the check-in area of the Mountain Spring Resort and Conference near the Blue Mountains ski resort. The foods were cooked by a real Thai chef who has been in the restaurant business for decades. The meal prices range from $12 to $18 depending on your choices. The crispy spring rolls were freshly made and were golden brown colour. I can tell the chef used fresh oil to deep fried the spring rolls to get those beautiful colour. And the Pad Thai and fried rice we had were great.Overall we were impressed by the food, ambiance, friendly service and reasonable price. I am sure you will too.
Food was truly amazing and portions were huge--fed 4 of us twice. Owner's pride was evident as our compliments on the soup made her come alive.
They serve “real Thai food” - not using ketchup in the pad Thai but they home made sauce. Very healthy ingredients and friendly owner. Highly recommend.
