"We were recommended by our new local olive oil friends in Arqua Petrarca, (thank you! . It was a Sunday, we were welcomed late at the restaurant and felt we were famiglia from the start! The chef and his wonderful wife (and others passionately cooked our meals with heart and soul! Our service was over the moon, while the moon was rising over the valley! Yes, they are up on a hillside, that overlooks the beautiful vistas of Northern Italy. Giacomo and Ulia were so attentive and spoke enough English to make us feel so welcomed and walked us through their menu. Their pastas and gnocchi made our US versions seem mere replicas of their culinary crafts cooked by this lovely family. Our steak (bone in ribeye was cooked to perfection and the side potatoes were just …..bellissimo! Do not leave without ordering their tiramisu, it is outstanding! The wine was the icing on the cake! If you’re anywhere near Venice, a 35 minute road trip to this restaurant will be a lasting memory that you’ll never forget. We will not, and we will be back. It will not break your budget either. "The food was extremely good, the price fair and the host makes you feel at home. I'm not giving the top score for the only reason that (I understand) the traditional food is meat and I had fish instead, so I want to keep some room for improving the score at my next visit. On a more serious note: 1_the mussels had a generous quantity of garlic, which was fine with me but may not be liked by everybody and 2_I noticed that a wrong order was delivered to the table next to mine. The host apologized and instead of changing the order (as most would), left the wrong one on the table for free and brought the correct dish as well. The quality is in the details too and I will definitely go back."
