The setting was very peaceful however the food needs a lot of improvement. None of the burger buns were toasted and the burgers were very basic and quite tasteless. The steak was extremely tough in the steak sandwich and the cooked onions were fridge cold. On the whole the food was disappointing which is a shame as it a lovely setting. I am sorry to say that my friends and I will not be returning. View all feedback.

"The Royal did close for a short period, as stated by Noelene 61. However glad to say the doors are open again and the hospitality is still good old country style. The restaurant serves a lovely lunch from their fairly extensive menu, which is very reasonably priced. My wife and I have often taken our visitors for lunch at the Royal and everyone remarks about the good food. Sunday's can be quite busy so I recommend booking to be sure you get a table. I think its always best to call to make sure you can get in. Its a pleasant drive to the hotel so next time you're passing pop in for a pot and enjoy the country pub atmosphere.."

"Was very dissatisfied with this roadhouse. Went in for a meal, ordered then walked over to sit at a table. Every table was dirty and some still with cups and plates not cleared, so had to sit at a dirty table to try and enjoy my meal. At this time it was not busy at all and all the stuff where just standing around chatting. CLEAN THE TABLES. The reason. I gave 2 stars was because the ladies toilet was clean."
