"Black Cat is the more upscale sister restaurant to the Bramble and Hare, which is next door. My husband and I came here for my birthday and we were not disappointed. We tried the chef's tasting menu, where the chef chooses each of 6 courses (they do take into account dietary restrictions). Each dish was delicious! They were small portions but we were both full before the courses were done. We had a tomato based gazpacho, lobster, foie gras (not our fave but we are not foie gras level foodies), eggplant, sea bass, and salmon. We did ask at the beginning if dessert was part of the 6 courses and were told yes. What we didn't realize is that dessert is not counted as one of the courses, as in other restaurants we've visited. So if you do the tasting menu, keep in mind it's 6 courses plus dessert. They knew it was my birthday so they gave me a special dessert with chocolate, panna cotta, and BEETS! I've never had beets in a dessert before it was SO GOOD! The wait staff and chef were all very attentive and friendly, and explained each dish as they came out. Definitely put this restaurant on your list of places to visit, you won't regret it."

"I enjoyed my meal and experience here, but I have a couple of minor complaints. The water was warm and although I made mention of this, I did not receive a glass of ice. More importantly, the soap in the bathroom was very perfumed. I washed twice once I got home trying to remove the offensive scent, but my hands still reeked of the smell."
