What User likes about The Carlton:
beautiful restaurant in bournemouth carlton hotel, old school furnished. beautiful tables and no loud music playing. we enjoy our visits very much and the personal is really nice and very attentive, the filet steak, pfeffer sauce with fritten is as good as...where we have eaten 4*. What User doesn't like about The Carlton:
Went for dinner with friends. 'Steak fritte ' served up barely warm with cold chips. Taken away and returned hot. Steak fatty and poor quality. Waiting staff kept getting things wrong. Asked for ice and lemon in drinks and had to re-ask as they came without....Asked for bottled coke, they served up from the bar dispenser. Had to be changed. Lemon and blueberry sponge desert barely edible. Sticky toffee pudding served... View all feedback.

"We are here on Friday evening and everything about the evening was superb. From the service, wine pairings to the food there is nothing that disappointed. We were met with a smile and the three people who served us over the evening the brilliant. Shout out to the sommelier who matched the wines perfectly and also accommodated those in our party who didn’t like certain wines. The food was amazing and the star of the show was the tuna with oyster ice cream. Outstanding experience and can only see them earning a star soon. Thanks"

"Best coffee in this side of town. Great atmosphere. Nice little quotes from the book (The Little Prince) all over the place. Friendly staff, and amazing food! On top of that, it's also a bakery where you can get fresh bread every morning. And they use this home-made bread for their sandwiches. My personal favourites are Goat's Cheese Croissant for breakfast, and the Petit Prince Toasty for Lunch. But you can't really go wrong with your choice! They also have home made cakes and pastries. Totally worth checking out!"

"Disappointing. After all the 5 stars reviews I was expecting more, but I guess most people have little exposure to proper Asian Korean food. I had the sweet potato glass noodles which were good, but there were so few vegetables I could count them: about 4 slices of courgette, a few pieces of cabbage and some leaves and stalks. Most everything else were noodles. My wife had the Korean ramen noodles which were a major letdown. The noodles were nothing more than dry noodles you can buy from most Asian shops for 75p, and the broth was probably made with the accompanying sachet of powder that comes with the noodles pack. It was heavy with MSG which my wife can't stand. I tasted a few spoons and I still have the MSG taste in my mouth a few hours later. The miso soup also tasted like a sachet of store bought soup paste dissolved in hot water. Overall nothing better than some pre packaged dry ingredients bought from an Asian store, with a big of spring onion and sesame oil added for good measure. Again, probably fine for someone who never tasted good Asian food, but I've been around quite a bit and I can't recommend this place for flavour. Service with a smile though, the people working there seem genuinely fine, pity about the food."
