Great carne asada tacos and pecan pie! We sat in a nice shaded area and enjoyed our food. Next door you can get any kind of jerky you want and local pistachios....

"What an unexpected and wonderful surprise! I pulled off the 10 freeway in Bowie, AZ for 2 reasons, I 'm a big David Bowie fan so I wanted to take a picture, AND there was a sign advertising Penni 's INCREDIBLE pecan pie! Don 't EVER shut your pie hole! Well, how could I resist? My 1991 Toyota Odyssey is named PENNY, after all! On arrival this place turned out to be a really sweet spot. Small RV park nestled in the pecan trees, a couple of gas pumps, convenience store, and RAFTER G 's! I didn 't know how hungry I was until I smelled what was coming out of that little food truck. They were just about closed but when Steve saw the sad look on my face he agreed to whip me up some tacos in a flash. OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!! Now, I live in Los Angeles, and I spend a good part of the year down in Baja, California Sur so let 's just say I 've eaten a few tacos. These were by far some of the tastiest tacos I 've had. Ever. I try not to eat too much red meat but when Steve described his marinade I couldn 't say no! I ordered one carne and and one each featuring the different beans he had cooked up. A spicy (but not too spicy) ranch bean, and a delicious simple pinto bean. All three tacos were topped with fresh crunchy cabbage my favorite and grated cheese. The BEST part and something I 've NEVER seen before was that there was AN EXTRA TORTILLA at the bottom of the plate to make an extra taco out of everything that had fallen out of the first 3! GENIUS!! So thoughtful. I thought I 'd be saving some leftovers for the next day but.....UH UH. I gobbled up every single bite. The salsa was delicious too, fresh and house made. The main ingredient in this food, what made it so delicious? The LOVE that went into making it. This food was made with LOVE and care and good vibes and you can taste that in every bite. I got 2 pieces of the pecan pie to go, there was no way I could have eaten them that night. And I must say, it was the BEST I 've ever tased the chocolate bourbon one was unbelievable! And I don 't usually care for pecan pie! Just a couple of bites really satisfy the sweet craving so I 've been nibbling on that pie for a few days now. About to head down the road, I noticed a man cleaning the bathroom, I asked about the gas pumps and he said, How did you like your tacos? It was Steve! The same incredible chef who made that amazingly good food was now working hard to keep the place nice and clean. I 'll definitely return to this place to spend a night nestled under the pecan trees. I 'll return for the pie, the tacos, but mostly for the positive vibration and soul of this place. You should go check it out next time you 're out that way. Say HI to Steve for me."
