Has had a coat of paint and new carpet, but really is still a Friday night and Saturday night party pub.
Not the best pub in the area, the White Hart gets very rowdy on football day and the customers are generally bad mannered young lads in groups.

"Went in for small plate deal tonight great value £9.95 two course meal. Staff very attentive, didn't feel rushed when deciding on our meal. Drink's reasonable price due to it being part of a social club, food was very good. Nicely presented, hot and very tasty will definitely be coming back Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"Had a very nice breakfast here with colleagues on the way to a funeral. The food was beautifully done and the waitress was very helpful (not sure if her name but I think she had a South African accent). Lovely surroundings and cute tea cosy on the teapots!"

"Awesome food. 3rd visit last night and as always the food was sublime, unlike some other local restaurants where you take the quality of the food with the same chances as a coin flip. Rose and Mango does not disappoint. Their interesting (and reasonably priced) menu means that you are forced to choose something different from your usual Indian restaurant choices and experience Real. Delicious. Food. Food: 5"

"My little girl had her birthday party here today, and I can’t recommend it enough. We came for The Beauty and The Beast afternoon tea and wow it was amazing! "Staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was very tasty but you did have to wait a long time between courses so maybe they need more staff in the kitchen. Overall tasty food and very reasonable priced but spoilt it buy the very long wait between starter and main course"

"Ideal place to go if you don't want a drink ! This pub has the potential to be the best pub in Halstead but for years now the management and service has been appalling. I don't understand why GK do not take any interest in this pub !"

"We seriously cannot praise the lovely Staff at the newly taken over Kings Head enough after visiting here last week. They were so warm and welcoming as was the log fire which created a cosy atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for both of...the lovely girls serving us. They easily accommodated our needs with a smile. The food was an absolute delight and cooked to perfection by a Chef who really knew his onions! We started with Chicken Gougons and the Oriental Pork Belly, both dishes tantalising our taste buds in readiness for our main course. I chose the Fish and Chips which were triple cooked and delicious. The batter which coated the succulent white haddock was light and crispy, exactly how I like it and the salad accompanying my meal was seasoned and dressed perfectly. Thank you Chef. My Husband chose the Pork Belly which was a melt in the mouth delight with the crispiest of crackling and fresh vegetables to accompany it. We opted to skip dessert and ordered a Coffee which was served with a lovely homemade shortbread biscuit. An unexpected but very nice touch. Eating in such a relaxing and friendly environment enhanced the enjoyment of such a superb lunch and we can't wait to visit here again. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the new Proprietors every success and would highly recommend anyone to book a meal here soon. You will not be disappointed."
