"Ok I really dont know where to begin! Atmosphere , location and music 10/10 Portion size 10/10 shrimp burrito had like a kilo of shrimps in it. Taste 10/10 full of flavours. Customer service 10/10. My mrs had her hand on her back cos she had some pain, one of the staff brought her a pillow without even asking. Probably nicer than the Mexican food I had in Mexico! Would 120% lunch here again"

"My favourite place on the island! The staff are superb, the atmosphere and music is brilliant, the menu is varied and excellent, and the whole place has such a great vibe what’s not to like! They offer a package which includes use of the beach etc, but I can only comment on the restaurant area. The waiting staff are brilliant, being always on hand on proactively getting drinks when needed. They keep checking up throughout your visit without being intrusive, but equally always there when needed. The menu is huge, with a great range of snacks, sides and meals. The portion sizes aren’t small so getting a filling meal is easy and everything I tasted was fantastic cooked and presented well with great flavours. While it’s not hard to work out, it’s nice for the menu to display both US and Barbados Dollars next to each item and in general the prices are normal and reasonable for the island. It’s a colourful environment, with a great atmosphere, and I could easily spend a whole day here and can do nothing more than recommend great place!"

"We had some of a difficult time to find vegan options in Barbados as it seems like Google and HappyCow local business lists are rarely updated. We only drove to the restaurant after the restaurant to find out that they were closed for months or even years. Luckily Vegan Cottage was open and happy to cook a homemade vegan, carribean lunch for us! The owner was super nice and chatting with us for a few minutes before you pick up our. Our lunch included a variety of vegan carbs, proteins and vegetables! We stayed satisfied! Note: The owner asked us to call them in advance and let them know when we come! I would suggest you do the same!"

"I've been here twice now and I absolutely love it! They are based on the corner of the cricket grounds on the side of the road with a couple of other food vendors so if you're travelling in a group there will be something there for everyone. The opening times/ days do vary so follow them on Instagram to check they are open on the day you want it. I've grabbed some things from them when I'm having a beach day and it has been perfect. There are so many pricey places in Holetown but Apple Crate is brilliant because the locals eat there and its much more affordable. They have rotis and burgers etc on the menu but everyday they have a special and, trust me, the special is what you want! These gals know what they're doing! I've had the salad/pickle bowl with soya chunks and it was so refreshing and healthy and also, most importantly, filling! They're portions are a good size so one meal per person is perfect. They've got all the juices too and will do whatever you want too, so if you don't see exactly what you want on the menu then she'll whip up whatever you want for you. Highly recommend going to the Apple Crate if you're in Holetown, just down the road from Limegrove, past the fruit/ coconut seller."
