Coffee really nice, even didn't have any latte art. We come a little bit late. So we missed their breakfast. However their lunch menu is simple but the recipe is pretty good, Mushroom sausage sandwich and eggplant cheese baked. Soooo amazing! Just the menu a little bit boring. But it's a good place to go! What Fausto Lemke doesn't like about Gertrude and Mabel:
Update: their cakes are out in the open and have flies crawling all over them, ew.

Avocado and eggs on toast was good. However the avocado had one of those hard bitter lumps that sometimes forms under the skin and should be removed during preparation. I mentioned it to the owner afterwards but they just said that sometimes that happens.
In case they read this: pulling the skin off the avocado, rather than scoo... View all feedback.
The food is limited, but that's not a bad thing. The service always comes with a smile and they are attentive. The place itself is a relic from the 1930s and the furniture, wall decorations, etc., reflect this. Have a go, you'll like it! Oh, and the coffee is quite nice, too!
Went here for weekend lunch. Very cute, 'Pinterest ' decor. We had the 'yiayia 's lunch ' and 'lamb and greek salad '. Both were delicious and filling. Note, the olives are not pitted. We only wished that they had one or two vegetarian options too. Coffee and homemade lemonade were also good.Choose a table and pay at the counter. The service was very friendly and approachable. Reasonably priced.Overall, a lovely brunch/lunch place for catch ups with friends.
Sweet place, love all the fresh flowers on the tables. Had the 8 minute eggs with bacon, cherry tomatoes with hollandaise sauce on sourdough and poached eggs with smashed avocado and cured ocean trout, we were so impressed with the food, very fresh and tasty. Definitely will be back to try the lunch menu.
Had a nice lunch at this café which seems quite renowned as there are many regulars. Ordered cup of coffee, green tea, Ocean Trout Lamp Rump. Yet, the lunch menu is simple and does not offer many choices, the dishes that we ordered are delicious. Presentation of Ocean Trout looks refreshing and actually the proteins are. I love the lamb rump which is done spot-on, together with dices of eggplant and tomatoes that delivers strong Greek feeling. The vibe here recalls my memory of visiting Bali, it is so slow living style and diners are relaxing and indulging in having their gathering with low voices during their conversation. If you compare that situation with eateries in Sunnybank area, I don't think you can enjoy lunch in such a quiet and peaceful environment.
Great little cafe with Greek inspired food. A bit out of the way for me otherwise I could see it becoming a regular. The difference good service makes
