We dined here on Saturday and were not impressed by their uninventive and tired menu.The gyoza options were very poor and tasted cheap an nasty. The deep fried prawn consisted of some weird meat with shallots and 5 percent of actual prawns. TL;DR: "Keep it simple, stupid" is definitely the philosophy that goes around with Gyoza Ann Bar and all that is needed to be known about it is in the name. While it was probably blunted a bit from being delivered, what was still apparent was just how good the food is and it may be among the best Japanese in town. Within the lush Emporium of Fortitude Valley, Gyoza Bar Ann is one of the more quiet and reserved ones which many people easily pass over due to the lack of flash and flair which many of the bigger stars exude from their entrances. Well right off the bat this is Japanese cuisine, where less really is more this time around - and not the other way which often gets confused too much. There's a lunch box menu where you select from gyoza or other typical item such as chicken karage accompanied by rice and a salad.
Since last year, a friend has been highly recommending Gyoza Bar Ann to me, saying I must visit the next time I am in that area.
