I was introduced to Mad Mex by a local while on a week course. The first day we went to the Food Hall in Queens Plaza she decided to have nachos as she said they have the best. I decided to have a burrito because I was able to choose the ingredients. The service was quick and the burrito was toasted, and tasted absolutely delicious. It seems to be quite popular as it was always busy but the wait time is minimal. View all feedback.
What Hjálmtýr Álfs doesn't like about Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill:
I always enjoy a good burrito and Mad Mex are usually pretty decent. Today I had some slapped together grande melt, that was really liquidy, and hard to handle. The server may have been having a bad day, as she was really not happy when making my dish.Good flavours, but today, not a great experience. View all feedback.
This is another restaurant similar to Guzman y Gomez in Australia Like G&G, it's a chain.
I have to say, I am pretty surprised that I, and everyone else in the Brisbane Yelp community have overlooked this delicious little Mexican takeaway joint.
Apparently this place hires real Mexican people, which must be rare in Brisbane, because I can't recall ever meeting a Mexican person here.
OK for fast Mexican in a food court. They have a decent Ensalata Fresca which is a good healthy snack consisting of lots of leaf & a chipotle lime vinaigrette & not to forget that chilli hit
I gave this place a high score in comparison to other establishments like it. I have eaten at GYG and Zambreros and I think Mad Mex has the most going for it. Their process is hands-down the best - they are super efficient. I can be in the line and gone within 2 minutes on my lunch break! They also have tasty meats and are generous with their fillings. The other thing I like is the connection between diners profiles and Mexican wrestlers. Although it is a bit gimmicky, I enjoy telling people about my wrestler name. I do think that GYG has tastier fillings, but they are more expensive and take way too long for Mexican. Zambreros has a good idea with their humanitarian focus and change things up a bit with their different salads. However, I think they miss the mark with their food and need to get the basics right. Their white rice is absolutely feral! Anyway... Go to MadMex in Queens Plaza, Brisbane - best fast Mexican around.
