What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. The plating is stunning, so artful! And the taste was absolutely next level. I had the octopus, which was cooked to perfection, as well as the lobster. Just wow! Chef Christophe even came by and said hi to all the patrons. I can’t wait to visit again. View all feedback.
What Shinan Xu doesn't like about Essential By Christophe:
The dish's presentation was quite simple, which can be appealing, but I was disappointed to see water streaks on the plate. Attention to detail is crucial, especially in a Michelin-starred restaurant. I hope the restaurant can address this issue to ensure a flawless dining experience in the future. View all feedback.
I can’t understand how this place isn’t booked out the second reservations are released. The food was faultless and the service was friendly and unpretentious. Amazing wine matches. I will definitely be back my new fave in NYC. Christophe was kind enough to come and say hello, the whole service team were amazing. Thank you for making our celebrations so memorable.
Beautiful dining Room. Great dishes and very kind staff. Food is amazing but just the good plate size for the 7 dishes menu so you can eat and enjoy the dessert too.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday here. Wonderful staff. Excellent service .Love the 4 course meal we had .
Oh my. It was very tempting not to tell you how good this place is, just so I can get another reservation in again. The food ranges from the great to the sublime. Wine collection is perfect for every taste and wallet size. Had the 4 course. You knew things would turn out well when the intro sweet potato with mushroom mousse would make your mind think how food this good can even be created by human hands. You will not be disappointed.
Chef Bellanca is an extraordinary talent who has worked with Robuchon and Thomas Keller, among many other giants in French haute cuisine. The prix fixe menu is affordable compared to other restaurants of a similarly high caliber, highly inventive, and it's a portal to the best traditions of Lyon and Paris on a quiet block on the UWS. We had a marvelous dinner there several months back with delicious plates of hamachi, scallop, and wagyu beef, and our mouths are still watering. Do yourself a favor and run there before it becomes impossible to book a table. Merci, chef!
