The American Chinese is not great here. My gen tso was hard and dry and stringy. My lo mein was bland. But most non American dishes I got were testy. The Lotus Pond Fresh Veggies 荷塘小炒is a favorite. So crispy and light. And the Soft Eggplants with Garlic 鱼香茄子 is a tiny bit spicy and a little sweet and is tender and delicious. Both came w a huge white rice. The Sesame Chicken 芝麻鸡 was not great at all. Second time we've ordered. It was fantastic the first time, this time it seemed like it had been sitting around for too long and the reheated. The sauce was starchy and too strong. Disappointing. the Kung Pao Chicken 宫保鸡丁 was excellent as always. I asked to sub the bell peppers for chilis which for me makes all the difference.
