We started out for brunch at one of our favorite places, Avondale Common House. When we got there it was closed then I remembered reading an article about how they were moving so I googled their address...we found them at the old Fancy's location across from Avondale Park. Great atmosphere and wonderful service /food as always ?? so glad they just moved locations and not closed completely!! Happy Brunch day ? View all feedback.
What Rebecca Kidd doesn't like about Avondale Common House:
I don’t know if they were just having an off day but our food was taken twice and when we finally did get our food it was burnt. We gave up and just left. Whoever is the owner or manager do better. Don’t leave your front of house with only two people on a Saturday afternoon on a beautiful spring day. As an owner you should know better. View all feedback.
Super chill place, if you visit make sure to look up at the ceiling when you get there. Had the BLT, very tasty.

I have been trying to find the right words for this visit. A few friends decided to meet here for drinks and a quick bite to eat. One friend arrived before me, so she had a drink. Once I came in, I sat for about 15 minutes, and no one had come over to take my order, so I went to the bar to ask who was waiting on our table no one had been over. The bartender came to assist. He was very apologetic, I ordered a long island, and he brought out the drinks and took our appetizers order. Our waitress then came over to assist, we advised the bartender had already assisted, and we were waiting on one more person. The appetizers came out, and we got the southwest eggrolls. I was enjoying my drink and eggrolls, and out of my peripheral, I saw something on the ground crawl by... I looked around the chair, and just calmly scooting around was a freaking rat!!!!? I jumped up and yelled I 'm done!! Bring me my check now,you got a rat over there!!! The waiter was so mortified and embarrassed, and he stated we didn 't have to pay, again very apologetic. So it 's a NEVER AGAIN for me. ???
I had the Buffalo Cauliflower and YES I WILL SAY DELICIOUS ?... That was my 1st time EVERY eating fried Cauliflower.... I will be back for them again
Summary:10/10Breakdown:Food- I am vegetarian, date is not.I ordered fried green tomatoes appetizer , Fries side , vegan bbq with slaw. Date had wings appetizer with chicken tenders meal and fries side .Slaw has a vinegar base so sweet with a kick and very crunchy. Absolutely fabulous and a wake up from the boring creamy slaws. Sandwich had a meaty texture and the sauce was the right combo of sweet and bitter if that makes sense with a hint of spice. Fries were really good with a crunchy shell and soft inner shell like absolutely perfect. Green tomatoes were on point, just the right of tang with a little crunch but not overpowering. Whatever corn salsa they put on top was absolutely perfect.Meat eater enjoyed wings appetizer . Maple flavored sweet heat, very much enjoyed. Chicken fingers with same sauce because it was so very good.Drinks- 41st Street Tea I think that's the name was absolutely good with a hint of mint. The blackberry smoke was so good I ordered two to make sure I wasn't imagining how good it was. Great mixture of sweet and strong but had a sneaky kick definitely felt but it was so smooth it flowed right into the meal.Service- OUTSTANDING! Perfect atmosphere for an intimate meal with good choice conversation. Lexi ? was FANTASTIC and went right into the perfect recommendations when asked. Absolutely loved the check ins, not too overbearing and always on time. Quick turnaround on food and drinks. Music was at a good level where I could hear every word of our conversation and none of anyone else's. We sat at the bar and got wonderful service that wasn't pushy or annoying but attentive which is so needed nowadays.Wonderful hidden gem. Love they can tailor most dishes to be vegetarian/vegan friendly with ease. Will be going back!Vegetarian options: Fried green tomatoes, fries, slaw, vegan bbq sandwich all very good!
