this place is so dang tasty. they have some serious legit Thai dishes, it really reminds me of my time in Thailand. we have a curry and the red snapshot and both were phenomenal. the red snap soup had a generous amount of fish in it, probably a whole fish, and the broth was so delicious I could not stop drinking it. both dishes certainly had a bit of a kick, the red snapper broth especially. they also have an amazing... What Seth T doesn't like about Ugly Baby:
Panang beef: Overly sweetened. I like the cooking but the seasoning was off Fried fish: Well fired though it should have been served with some seafood sauce or some fish sauce Nam tok beef tripe: The seasoning was awesome, and I like the spiciness and the pla ra flavor, but the steak was dull. It should have been either cooked medium level or just really well grilled like typical Thai style. The better dish of the nig... View all feedback.
Excellent Thai food that is quite spicy for people who can't take spice like myself. The Hung Le (5/5) was super flavorful: tangy, floral, hearty, and bright. It has the perfect balance of flavor. The coconut sticky rice (5/5) was also delicious gooey and sticky with strong coconut and floral flavors from the rice. While the person said it wasn't spicy it definitely was for me. If you can't take spice that well like me be careful, but the flavor makes it all worth it.
My taste buds… they burn!!!Super spicy, super authentic Thai food.I’m still feeling the heat. But in pain there is also pleasure.
Be careful if you are not quite good at eating spicy, a little bit TOO spicy for most of the dishes… but the flavors are awesome. If you love spicy food, this is a must-try.
One of my favorite restaurants period! If you love spicy Thai food you will love Ugly Baby. I love everything I've tried. Its amazing how you can eat a certain dish and it's so spicy, the you try another dish and it's also spicy, but a different kind of spice, then another dish which hits even more differently than the others. It's an incredible scaffolded spice journey I've been lucky enough to experience a few times. The service is great and the vibe and fun and energizing. There is usually a line of folks waiting and every table is usually full for good reason. I would definitely recommend calling ahead and making a reservation. You can also order for pickup and delivery.
Quality unique food but cringe worthily hipster bare bones (despite still charging $25+ per dish). After 1.5 hour wait, we were seated at a shared table. This was a small 4 person table crushed into a corner that could barely fit 6 petite humans the couple next to us needed to get out of their seats for us to exit and go to the bathroom (refer to photo). They had an extensive beer menu but ironically didn 't carry any Thai beer (or any cocktails) I guess it 's a vibe? Beer arrived in cans with no glass (also part of vibe). My plate came dirty. Food was unique (they pride themselves on extremely spicy unique dishes) but given bare bones atmosphere was not worth it. Also weirdly no appetizers (like I said, bare bones). Soothr prices without the service or atmosphere don 't recommend the trip.
