Delicious! I go to this place all the time and only had a problem with them once (got general tsao instead of sweet and sour) but every order besides that was fresh, hot, and so good. It is a tiny bit pricey but to me it was worth it. Staff is also very friendly! View all feedback.
What Darius Gill doesn't like about Yamato Sushi Hibachi Express:
Is it legal to charge more than the state tax? The state tax is 7% and this place charges a 9% tax. I strongly dislike businesses that try to take advantage of people. The sushi is ok but not worth the value in price. Hino Oishi in Carmel has better quality sushi for the same price, nice environment to dine in the water is free (Yamato charges for water). This is a casual sushi place. You order at the counter and they bring your food when it?s ready. They only have bottled and canned drinks, so if you want water you have to get bottled water. The food was delicious and didn?t take long to get. We got the Mickey roll, the Spider roll, and the sweet potato roll. I will definitely come back!
I was surprised to see that 4 California rolls were basically 1 big roll divided up (It?ll have to do since it?s closer than Benihana). Based on the before and after photos, the food was delicious. ????
Atomic bomb so good, so spicy! Con is mo fountain beverages but they are definitely trying to be covid aware. They do have a few tables if you want to dine in but your food will be packed to go.

All Fried rice should have carrots peas in it no exceptions and all we received was rice and chicken. I have been trying a lot of sushi hibachi places since my favorite spot, Ginza, off 38th st, closed permanently after COVID shut downs. I will not be visiting this Yamato place again.
Wish this place was a nice sit down restaurant because the food is such good quality. I've liked everything I've gotten from there, whether appetizers, sushi, hibachi, or other dishes. We love to use DoorDash to have this place delivered to our home.
