"We spent about 2 weeks between Portland and Bat Harbor, especially looking for places the locals love. We dined at the bar and learned several of the parties next to us come in every week for the dynamic menu and Renaissance cocktails. Everything utensils and bev send singular. Nothing rote or tired. Pros: lightly fried artichoke hearts. WOW! Lavender Gimlet, woohoo! Cons: hmmm. Only open 4 nights?? Wheelchair accessibility: Very clean, open, accessible restroom. Tables/ seating were very flexible and staff is way attentive."

"Had the Barnum and the Oliphant, both were delicious. We were there shortly before 12 on a Friday. Waiting line was short and moved fast. Sandwiches can out in a very reasonable time and had chips and pickles with them. Got a yummy chocolate chip/walnut cookie for desert. All hit the spot. Was easy on and off Rt1 We will be back!"

"I was in there at 7am and the waitress I had was so sweet and very efficient. She was wonderful with her customers. I had the Crab Cake Benedict and I've had some amazing crab cakes in Maryland, but this cook knew his stuff. I definitely, no highly recommend this diner for breakfast"

"I've found Portland Pie to be inconsistent in the past. But on the night we were there (a Monday night, one of the few places in town open on Mondays and packed), the pizza was on point. My son and I each got different pies, I got the Korean steak special, and he got the Monaghan steak bomb. Both were excellent. We ate at the bar and bar service was terrific, with an attentive bartender and a great selection of micro brews. There's a lot of competition for the pizza dollar in my area, and it appears PP has stepped up their game. I won't forget that next time I'm hankering for a pie."

"Good burgers with 5 guys! I received a warm welcome during the order, and the better half and I had a few nice burgers with our desired toppings where they work to keep the place clean. Very nice!"

"Interesting little locals place, we ordered crabcakes, seafood chowder, and lightly fried scallops. In general the prices are middle of the road for this locals place, crabcake was a little bit on the dry/breaded side for us, seafood chowder was a little bit lite on the seafood, mostly a hunk of fish and potatoes, very little lobster. The scallops were more heavily than lightly fried. Tartar sauce was very good. Nice eating area by water. Maybe we caught them on an off day but we weren’t horrible impressed."

"EXCELLENT food with unique flavor combinations—not just another restaurant for sure!! Service takes a while to get going but then it is excellent. Very friendly staff—literally everyone. They all truly believe in the food and are very excited about it, which makes it all even more special. No one needs just another restaurant—-you want something tasty and memorable, and this, kids, is the place. It isn’t cheap, and some of the portions are small, (tapas style)so just be prepared….but it is quality."
