Ambiance: slightly over lit, and quite traditional Belgian/European. Don't recall any music. Not very romantic, but perfect for a family dinner. Service: I don't think waiters are assigned to any particular table, so sometimes service can be a bit slow, but I suppose this is the norm in a country where good service is not incentivised with tips. Unfortunatelly the menu is not in English. So we tried something and we were disappointed that cod with tomatoes is stewed in aluminium foil without any special taste. The starte, dessert and wine were ok, but we expected more for this price. View all feedback.

This resto in the center of brüssel with metro station ideally placed outside the door is one of our favorite for 40, yes 40 years brilliant fish dishes gorgeous sole meuniere
Place Sainte Catherine in Brussels: the place for fish. Bij den Boer is less touristic than most other restaurants near the church. The food is of excellent quality, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere in the restaurant is more popular, but with a high standard kitchen.
