Sadly globalization has taken over and Bucharest is now filled with western restaurants and bars. It's hard to find a restaurant in old town that offers Romanian food! They should be proud of their food and wine. Had the sarmale, which was excellent. The fried donut for dessert. The local wine was great and went well with the food. Would definitely come again. What User doesn't like about Taverna Covaci:
We were tempted by the Romanian style of the decor of the restaurant so we went in for dessert. First Greeted by non friendly waiter. I ordered ice cream which took agessss to arrive. I was wondering what they were doing with it ! but then it came after more than 20 or 30 minutes and it was a regular ice cream right from a box, with a spit of chocolate syrup and whipped cream from a can.
