Probably the only place on the Sunshine Coast where you can get deliciously battered Haddock. They also sell all sorts of other English themed food like piess, battered sausages and mushy peas! Not for anyone trying to loose weight! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Fryer Of Whitby:
Not many people around for a Saturday night this should have rung alarm bells. ordered fish cakes told they are made on premises and delicious well that person had obviously not tasted them. They were completley tasteless and battered not breaded batter was awful thick greasy and uncooked. Just had fish and chips and curry sauce tonight and it was delicious! Chips were perfect, sauce was perfect. Everything was perfect! We will be back again for sure. But, don't be afraid to smother the chips with vinegar! Haha
Yum yum yum... Didn't disappoint. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.. Cod roe was perfect and it's been my fav since I was a child.. happy.
Heard by word of mouth that the fish chips were similar to what we experienced on our travel to England. The battered Cod we had was scrumptious and although the chips weren't great, they were not greasy when they cooled. The curry sauce wss...ok, but not quite like we experienced in England. We would go back again though, as it came close to our England experience!
We have been to the FoW a couple of times in the past few years and was always a bit disappointed. We hadn't been for a few months, but tried it again early October and this place is really good now. Perfect English Fish...n Chips. Nothing is too greasy, the mushy peas a great and curry sauce is the same as you get in the UK. No complaints whatsoever... or perhaps one if they can do SCAMPI please.
Really enjoyed my snapper and traditional chips with salt and vinegar. Good serving size, speedy service
