"An excellent steakhouse with the additional appeal to be a central sideways location. The steaks are prepared with an amazing spice Rub (which they sell) and no need for sauces. The entrances come with tons of extras – potato, salad, soup, etc. They also make their own very beautiful wines."

"Amazing as usual! Today we had the chanterelle, sausage and pasilla chile (not spicy pizza : and the caesar salad w/crunchy tasty croutons. We also had a couple Allagash Tripel beer! They seem to have great beer choices. There are also several wines to choose from. Cannot wait to be back in the area for these great eats!!!"

"Ellen is without equality. This is the best breakfast place between S.F. and L.A. The tiny Danish pancakes and Danish sausages with perfectly cooked eggs are phenomenal and no one - that's no one - goes to Ellen's without tasting the apple smoked bacon with 90 percent lean meat!!!"

"We were all a little disappointed. The food was pricey and mediocre. Service was decent, but since our party of 6 was large, we were seated in a back room with 2 other large tables and it was difficult to converse or even to carry on a conversation with the person next to you. We visit Los Olivos almost every year and I definitely would not go back."
