"Visited on 12/28/20. In town for some time. My husband and I enjoy eating locally and appreciate the very small details provided to automatically feel as if we are part of the community. Safety precautions for all current COVID laws, a terrace with heating, spaced and water for pets! The staff was very friendly and offered food suggestions and was very friendly. We are now rocking our new NN Burger sunglasses! We're coming back!"

"I reviewed this place 2 years ago and gave 5 stars, food was good and service was good. Today we decided to pick up super. This was a disaster, I ordered chili cheese fries, bacon cheese fries, Tex Mex hotdog, clam strips and fries, here's what Igot Cheese fries, Cheese fries with 5 chips of bacon and a few drops of cheese, the Tex mex on a hard bun no coleslaw, andyesterday's chili , clam strips were the only thing in the order that was good. We called and said nothing they could do. So wehad a order a few weeks ago for 3 steak and cheese subs, my wife picked it up and the charge was $52.00 she question the amountand rudley was told it was correct, so we brought that up today and was told that it could not be so, but we have the receipt toprove it, didn't want to do anything about it. Sad that we try to support local business and this is what we get. We cancontinue to go to Newsomes restaurant as I know we would not be treated in this manner nor would we get food that was sub par."

"Friendly, busy, but productive, this place can serve up coffee or breakfast with the best of them. Inside or outside, they have the standard fare. The twist here, the bagel sandwiches are pressed, like a panini. Pretty cool."

"What an experience! We went for an anniversary celebration on a Sunday evening and chose The Colonnade at Hope and Glory for our special dinner. Knowing ahead of time that it was a prix fixe menu my husband worked with Heather to discuss some food intolerances limitations I had and prepared some alternatives to the menu. I could not have been more thrilled with what Chef Crockett chose. They are incredibly conscientious of peoples particular requirements and are more than happy to accommodate specific needs. Fresh made rolls with butter and rosemary from their garden, baked oysters with pesto and asaggio cheese melted on top, and vichyssoise soup with fresh chives, also from their garden to start. Our entrees included lump meat crab cakes with only a delicious aioli to hold it together, no fillers. For me, salmon with a delicious lemon and mustard sauce, both entrees accompanied by ratatouille and also glazed carrots for my husband. And to complete the meal, for desert a chocolate mousse with fresh whipped cream for me and a fabulous raisin filled bread pudding with sauce drizzled on top for my husband. Each course was paired with excellent wines and a bit of tawny port at the end to sip with desert. We have lived and traveled outside the US numerous times and we are hard pressed to think of another dining experience that compares to the ambience, the service, the quality and presentation of the food and the total experience that we enjoyed at The Colonnade. Once dinner was complete Chef Crockett came out to introduce herself. She could not have been more delightful, sharing that she began her cooking journey in Vienna, Austria where we discovered we lived very near where she had also lived, just a few years prior to us. From there it was on to formal French training and eventually on to Irvington where we were very lucky to meet her. If you ever looking for an opportunity to celebrate a special occasion, want a wonderful, intimate restaurant to enjoy a fine dining experience then look no further than The Colannade at Hope and Glory in Irvington, Virginia. It created a wonderful memory for us that we look forward to returning to on another occasion."

"The atmosphere in vine is unique and the offers excellent. it is one of those places where the locals can call our place and the visitors can insert themselves directly. excellent eating, limited menu so that they can focus on quality, fun specialties and good wine selection. I have eaten a few times here and wished it was in my florida city so I could be here more often. it would be our place if we lived in irvington."

"What a shady! as owner of a bed and breakfast itself, I know and appreciate a well-run facility and I can tell them that they are not disappointed with this. the buildings, the garden and the grounds are beautiful and full of unique art structures, historical factoids and offer a peaceful environment. the suits are located in separate adjacent buildings (behind the main building), which are built and decorated in the style of historic colonial plantation houses. I have booked the pet-friendly room unknowingly and was shocked when I found it out (at the cashier), as there were no signs for a pet history. everything was immaculately cleaned and well maintained, the beds were comfortable, and there were many pleasant things (coffee machines, mini fridge, bathrobes, etc.) the breakfast menu was world class and the owners and their staff were friendly and courteous.' make them please and spend the extra few dollars on this place the free/included breakfast is more than it is worth and they will not be disappointed."

"Newsomes apparently have a stupid rule to have walk up window for online orders only. I was the only customer there. All the kid had to do is ring up my order....no, he made me walk inside the restaurant to buy and retrieve my order. A walk up window issuppose to alleviate us from going inside in the first place. Now let's discuss the food. I ordered a shrimp dinner. Ireceived burnt shrimp and nothing else. I will NOT go back there again."

"After our tour to Tangier Island, we looked for a nice place to finally have a beer (dry island). This place did not disappoint. We did not really eat here, but the crab dip was simply out of this world. I had never had pitta bread like these, fluffy, soft and crispy. The pink wine flight was good and the ambience out on the deck, super relaxing. Now, we arrived on a Saturday before 5 PM. The place was literally dead, but by the time we left, almost 6, it had started to get busy. There’s plenty of parking. The service was prompt and friendly. Loved it!"
