What User doesn't like about The Black Cock Inn:
wait over 1 hour on quite ordinary food no excuse given teriyaki huhn was dry and cheap looking and had to look for more soße chips were great heard a few people complain about time and eating and most offered discount would not recommend this. View all feedback.
A very welcome pitstop during a long walk. warm open fire, which was very welcome on a cold day. the pub itself appeared very intelligent, clean and tidy, and the merciful was friendly. Although I only stopped for a refreshing, I would definitely think about coming back and a rewarding stop for some decent pub food. I don't know if dogs are allowed, but they seem to have a cat in the pub.
While I visited the opposite to drive to the fforest fawr on the road, my son had booked us a table for a lunch. the personal greeted us with a smile under the mask and brought us to our table. oh beautiful, right next to the log burner, so toasty warm. order in which our drinks were taken and served within a short time. do not worry that we had the golden retriever with us. very dog-friendly pub with bowl water in the spatial areas for them. not too much later and our very inexpensive meal times arrived. gammon for me, hake goujohns and seasonal burgers for son and his wife. all saw amazingly with very large portions of FRESH chips, not frozen müll and accompanying sides. now to compare with the other place where we went to boxtag, twice as beautiful for half price. so a nice clean place, friendly staff and fire to boot. parking in a large parking space on the back. I visited the ladies on the way out, where clean, fresh and beautifully decorated. disabled toilet available and ramp up to pub from both entrances. there is a charging point for phones where they can lock it in a box while there are also fees. worth a visit. x
Not a bad little pub. First impressions reasonably clean but when we took menus out of the menu holder on the table quite a few spiders ran for the hills! Food OK. Fishcake deep fried to oblivion but the gammon steak was nice even if the chips were soggy and oily. Cheesecake was lovely because it was shop bought. Service very slow but felt sorry for the staff as one was learning and the other trying to manage both bars and the food service. They were both lovely girls and were coping well under pressure. Whilst waiting to pay had a good view of the kitchen. Rubbish and food all over the floor, dirty dishes and a filthy broom! And as we were standing there the hygiene inspector was attempting to get access to the kitchen. All in all not bad for the price but probably wont be going back.
Great country pub with outstanding food. The staff were amazing and very friendly. I definitely recommend the Caprese Burger, it comes with the most delicious homemade pesto. A must go to place!!
We stopped here halfway through a long walk for lunch. Really nice place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were great and the majority of the food was very good. Would recommend the goats cheese starter and fish cake starter, my wife had a jacket potato for main which she enjoyed. The only issue was my chicken burger, the meat was solid and quite rubbery which put me off eating most of it, the accompaniments were nice as well as the salad and sauce. I think the burger was a one off so will try something else next time. Reasonably priced.
