Traveling and starving around 14 hours, driving in this picturesque valley, after a turn came the sign of the rustica hostel. . . we went out of our car, walked a few meters and entered this beautiful hostel out of time. a courteous lady welcomed us and we took a table on the terrace, facing the park with the buzzing of the nearby river. the menu came and I recognized the dishes of the island of madagascar to which I am accustomed. This, in the middle of nowhere! their achar was quite tasty, lulu, the chef, brought me a delicious cold homemade preparation. Then I had a delicious lotte fillet in a ginger sauce and white rice. with a kir and a quarter of local rosé, I paid only 26€. I recommend this restaurant for food, landscape, family kindness. It's worth stopping on this nice road.
We fell by chance on the rustica hostel, what a chance we were. the family business is located in a beautiful place and is instantly very welcoming. located just outside of cahors on the frozen road. 3-course lunch with wine was very reasonable (40 to 45 euros) and the quality of food was excellent in itself. I highly recommend a visit if you pass.
As I'm on a diet with very tight restrictions, it's always a pleasure finding a cafe or restaurant that has a low carb / ketogenic item on their menu.
