"I'd rate this place if I could. the service was shit and eating was at best sub par. they are called a fine restaurant, but this is by far the worst fine restaurant ever. In view of the price of food and drinks, tamarind honestly does not deserve a fine restaurant title. everything from eating and service was best sub par. the la pizza trottoria in cairns is a much better place and service in comparison to this beautiful it area. would not recommend or waste my time with this place!"

"This is a rather make-shift stall located between two backpacker establishments near the top end of the Esplanade. Its appearance is akin to a warung – an Indonesian street food stall. My wife and I lunched here on Monday 24th July 2017. The ladies serving that day seemed friendly. We ordered a beef rendang with rice and sate chicken on fried rice. The rendang was spicy and well seasoned. The chilli sambal that came with the dish was stingingly hot. The dish came with salad and pickles. The four sticks of sate were quite delicious and the peanut sauce tasted just right with the correct amount of spiciness and sweetness. The fried rice was palatable, though slightly mushy. The dish came with a fried egg, salad and pickles. Our drinks comprised Es Campur and Banana Milkshake. The Es Campur had pieces of jackfruit, avocado, and seaweed jelly in a sweet rose syrup with condensed milk. The milkshake had a strong flavour of banana – quite yummy."

"I found this burger disgusting. The tomato sauce had too much vinegar, the cheese was cold and not melted, and the patty (Impossible burger) was not nice either. The chips and onion rings were burnt and cold."
