"Service is fine, given the type of place its what you would expect. They are quick to serve you and as long as its not busy wait times are reasonable. But understand it smells like a grease pit, id love to see the condition of the kitchen because I'm sure its rarely cleaned. No money has been put into the place to upkeep the interior and looks like its still in the 80's. As far as the food its typical bar food for the most but i will tip my hat to their pizza. In Fact if you want pizza in Renfrew order from Finnigans. Beer is usually cool but not super cold. We go from time to time but only if we want pizza."

"The Black Bird was a short drive for us and the first word that came to mind, as we came to the door, in the evening, was "Rustic" - The interior is pleasant, with a lot of knick knacks displayed on the wall, which definitely add to the character of the place. The older wood boards and planks complete the look. My wife and I both ordered the Oscar steak, with shrimp & scallops. Both the shrimp and scallops were cooked to absolute perfection; What I enjoyed most about them was the fact that the Bernaise sause seemed to have permeated both foods, adding immensely to the enjoyment of the flavours. The steak, too, was cooked to a perfect medium rare, seasoned well and served expertly and pleasing to the eye. The taste of the meat was absolutely fantastic. If I had a single little nit-pick about the steak, it would be that the cut of meat could be a little higher; There was a fair amount of gristle in the cut, though by no means enough to rate it a bad meal at all - As I said: I minor nit-pick and constructive criticism. The pricing is definitely on the higher side. You *absolutely* get value for your money, in that you *will* leave with full bellies; If you have room for desert after both an appetizer and a main, then you have a far more efficient belly than I do! Over all, I would definitely recommend the Black Bird to friends."
