What Dorothea Erdman doesn't like about Calypso Greek Taverna:
We were anxious to return to Calypso after a couple of years. What a disappointment! The service was good, but the quality of food has taken a sharp dive. They must have a new chef as the food just was not good. There were 4 of us and we all had different dishes, along with different aps. Also disappointed in the fact one of the parties is celiac and asked the waitress if she could help with gluten free dishes. She s... View all feedback. What Sarah Frauchiger likes about Calypso Greek Taverna:
Best calimari I have had in calgary — hands down. Not chewy or overcooked; very tender, lightly battered, great flavour. My husband said his lamb was “the best I’ve EVER had.” His was fall off the bone and he loved the flavour. The appy platter for 2 fed 4 of us EASILY. If it were for 2 ppl you would not need dinner. No joke — it’s that huge. View all feedback.

read moreCalypso's Taverna offers a mix of experiences, with some diners feeling disappointed by the decline in food quality and service, particularly after being loyal customers for years. The roast lamb and Greek salad were mediocre, and the tzatziki left much to be desired. Others, however, had positive experiences, praising the consistently excellent food and family-run atmosphere. The generous portions and reasonable prices were highlights for many, with dishes like the wild salmon and shrimp cooked with butter and dill receiving rave reviews. While some feel the service has room for improvement, others appreciate the friendly owners and cozy environment, making it a recommended spot for Greek cuisine enthusiasts looking for a mom and pop dining experience.
